Distilleries and Liquor Companies chip in to fight Covid-19

print small bottle label with VP650 or VP750 is simple

Across the globe, small to large companies are joining the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.  For example, apparel giant Nike now makes face shields to help fill the shortage of PPE for healthcare workers.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends using alcohol-base sanitizers (at least 60% alcohol content) when washing hands with soap and water is not possible.

This has gravitated many distilleries (including Anheuser-Busch) nationwide have joined in the fight by converting their stockpile of spirits to hand sanitizer for business continuity reason or otherwise.

For these distillers, that’s the easy part – blending spirits with aloe vera gel, hydrogen peroxide and natural scents into the new mixture.

However, the challenging aspect is labeling the hand sanitizer bottles.

Companies must find a way to label their bottles with ingredients information for their new offerings.

Proper ingredient labeling becomes important to inspire consumers’ trust in these new brands of hand sanitizers. This is regardless if the sanitizers are donated or sold.

Besides the label design, using pre-printed labels can be a challenge – the usual MOQ requirement and intensifying long delivery lead-time.

Digital Labeling workflow simplifies product switch-over

Distillers who have adopted digital labeling or printing their own product labels in-house have a distinct advantage in making the switch-over easily.

Printing product labels with desktop color label printers like the VIPColor VP650/VP750 is a simple 3-steps process,

  1. Design the label using graphic design software like Adobe illustrator or a label design application like Bartender.
  2. Load the appropriate pre-diecut blank label stock on the printer.
  3. Press print and you get your labels. On the VP650/VP750, you can print 1,000 3” x 2” (8 cm x 5 cm) bottle labels within 10 mins.

With digital workflow, you can print different label designs, serialized or batch dated in a single step.  This saves time and cost.

VP650/VP750 labels are also

  1. Water resistant
  2. Able to withstand 70% alcohol swaps or rubs.  This means no ink smear or unreadable text
  3. Uses Non-toxic water based dye inks.
  4. Richly colored.  This makes graphics pops.

This makes VP650/VP750 labels durable enough for daily use.

Finally, VIPColor printers are capable of printing fine readable text (5 pt font size or even smaller) at high resolution of 1600 x 1600 dpi.  This is important for small bottle labels.

There is no better time to consider the digital labeling workflow and have full control over your product labeling need during this disruptive time period.
